Should I join Wealthy Affiliate? How successful can I be online?

Should I join Wealthy Affiliate, or is it a scam? I thought the same thing when I started looking at ways to make money online.

It didn’t take long for me to discover Wealthy Affiliate’s platform, of course. They widely claim to provide affiliate marketing training for all levels of ability and experience. With such a boast, Wealthy Affiliate’s system was immediately under my scrutiny.

I was seeking out a better future for myself, so I wanted to get it right. Not wasting money was a priority!

Woman in thought, sat on outside steps, perhaps thinking "Should I Join Wealthy Affiliate?"
“Should I join Wealthy Affiliate?”

I hear about the exploitation of vulnerable people too often and it sickens me. I’ve been sold short for a high price myself, so I maintain a vigil for any scamming or spamming activity. Since the turn of the century, these problems are just getting worse, and I refuse to be a victim. The misinformation and fakery that dominates social media exasperates me.

The tabloid press, general media, business leaders and our politicians don’t inspire much faith or confidence either. Lies and deceit are creating a society of distrust. Nowadays, even the most powerful of pitches can draw a doubtful response from the listener. And that’s if they listen at all.

This page contains some affiliate links and advertisements from which I earn a small commission.

So, what does iwanttoleavemyjob.com think about Wealthy Affiliate?

Featureless person scratching head and leaning on a red question mark.

It’s possible you’re here because you’ve heard about Wealthy Affiliate elsewhere and want to know more. It makes sense to do some research before you commit, right? Absolutely. I did the same thing, so fair play to you.

You may be having an emotional battle, or trying to make an informed decision, about what’s true and what isn’t. Is thissite.com right? Or is thatsite.com telling the truth? Both probably say they’re being honest, only for one to condemn whilst the other praises Wealthy Affiliate. So, who do you believe?

As you read my Wealthy Affiliate review, please give this some thought. Are you after my reassurance? Do you want me to vindicate your doubts? I’m sorry, but I won’t be doing either.

I imagine the owner of thissite.com is just as honest as thatsite.com’s proprietor. Their views are different, but the writers don’t have to agree with each other. They’re just writing from their own perspectives, perhaps? I can’t guarantee that.

Both, as I am, are more than certainly in the business of affiliate marketing.

The mission statement for iwanttoleavemyjob.com is, “to provide options and guidance for anyone who feels trapped or disengaged in their current employment, or situation.

So, I’ll give you the information, my thoughts and opinion, but ultimately the choice is yours to make. However, it pleases me to tell you, as a premium member of the platform, that no one is getting conned by Wealthy Affiliate. It’s not a scam.

Wealthy Affiliate hosts a legitimate online training program for affiliate marketers, so please read on. At the end of this review, I’d like you to ask yourself the “should I join Wealthy Affiliate?” question again. By that point, I hope you’ll be able to decide for yourself.

What is the Wealthy Affiliate University?

Please take a quick look at the banner below. It contains my affiliate link to Wealthy Affiliate, but I prefer you to continue reading this review before you decide whether to click it or not.

The Wealthy Affiliate Classrooms

As well as the two core training camps, Wealthy Affiliate has 13 bespoke classrooms. These are home to more content, schooling you in specific areas of relevance. They offer a place for members to ask questions, and receive answers, about things the training doesn’t cover.

Wealthy Affiliate is very keen for its members to interact and engage in this way. Believe me, you’ll have lots of questions at first! Soon enough though, you’ll be the one that answers them for others.

The classrooms include videos, courses, tutorials and webinars and cover a wide range of information. You will save time, a valuable commodity in its own right, and money if you regularly use the classrooms as one of your go-to resources.

The Wealthy Affiliate owners, Kyle and Carson, generally create the classroom lessons but there are ‘Top Contributors’ for each classroom, and community involvement too. It really is a University of Knowledge at Wealthy Affiliate.

What’s the Wealthy Affiliate training like in practice?

Wealthy Affiliate’s training and support is the best feature of the platform, especially if you’re new to online business. The process guides you through the building of a website, helps you find a niche that works for you, and maximizes your website traffic with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques.

This image depicts the pathway that Wealthy Affiliate’s training takes you down. I hope it helps in your decision.

There are step-by-step tasks to complete and sign off, so you can track your progress. Conveniently, the navigation allows you to go back to wherever you left off.

You’ll soon learn that the main training needs to be followed in the way it’s been laid out. Leaping ahead can lead to trouble and more work down the line.

You can always go back to a lesson if you need a refresher on something too (I’m always doing this!). The tools are there for you to succeed, regardless of your starting level.

A handshake with power words for online success written around the two arms.

Wealthy Affiliate’s owners regularly join the online chat. This is where members congregate to give and receive advice, encouragement or banter. The Wealthy Affiliate community makes you feel really welcome from the start. They’re more than happy to help when you need it too.

Being a part of the Wealthy Affiliate family is rewarding, and absolutely essential to your progress.

A minor criticism of the Wealthy Affiliate training

If there’s a criticism I can level at the Wealthy Affiliate training platform, it’s that some of the content is out of date. As online tools / programs continually evolve they can take on a different look to the screenshots provided in training. So, what you see as you follow the instructions may not always reflect what you’re looking at on your updated version of an application.

To be honest, I find this quite helpful. It encourages me to look around and find the solutions I need for myself. It engages and stretches me, and that suits my preferred style of learning.

I do understand why this can be frustrating but the community, and I can’t say this enough, is super-supportive. There’ll always be someone willing to help and direct you when called upon.

Free access to Jaaxy – an essential keyword & research platform

Establishing an internet presence involves ranking highly on search engines. The aim is to be listed on the first page of Google, Bing and Yahoo. Approximately 97% of global searches go through these three. Your website will be lost in the online world without them.

Is this where you found iwanttoleavemyjob.com?

Another of Wealthy Affiliate’s selling points (if not its strongest) is that membership of the platform gives you free access to Jaaxy. Let me explain…

Jaaxy is an invaluable online keyword and research tool. You’ll use it to research your niche, your competition and your creative content. In short, it’s going to help get you noticed online. And with that comes financial opportunity!

Of course, the Wealthy Affiliate training teaches you how to make the best use of Jaaxy.

The inclusion of Jaaxy as part of the Wealthy Affiliate package adds significant value to the platform. If the community and training enhancements don’t entice you, free access to Jaaxy is reason enough to maintain your Wealthy Affiliate membership. It’s a persuasive factor when asking that “should I join Wealthy Affiliate?” question too.

Wealthy Affiliate’s content templates

Like most industries, the business of online marketing is subject to regulatory obligations. Affiliate marketers are not immune to the rules of law and are accountable for their online activities.

The internet is a global entity. That means, as an affiliate marketer, you’ll be reaching out to an international audience. So, it’s not just your own country’s operating rules that you need to be familiar with. You’ll be expected to conduct your business in line with (but not limited to) the EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

Copyright laws also need to be observed and the intent of your site must be transparent to visitors.

Thankfully, Wealthy Affiliate has got your back here.

Typewriter drafting a Privacy Policy.

There’s only so much Wealthy Affiliate can do for you in terms of compliance. However, they provide members with content templates for a Privacy Policy and an Affiliate Disclosure. Such tomes are onerous to write but Wealthy Affiliate will get you doing these swiftly, and painlessly, in the early stages of training.

Imagery at Wealthy Affiliate

You’ll want some color imagery on your website to keep visitors engaged in your content. Unfortunately, images are usually subject to copyright limitations.

Copyright infringement can have serious consequences, so don’t do it. Don’t lift images from other sites, or from search engine results, without checking and being certain of the copyright owner and their terms of use first.

But again, Wealthy Affiliate is your friend when it comes to imagery. They have a stock library of over a million images that fall under the Creative Commons Zero (CC0) license. This means they are free to use in any way you like, even commercially.

Wealthy Affiliate’s training gives more advice on this subject. It also provides links to platforms that host royalty-free or CC0 imagery. So, you’re getting more perks from the Wealthy Affiliate platform!

Should I join Wealthy Affiliate? You haven’t mentioned the money!

Wealthy Affiliate has its own affiliate program which can provide a recurring income for each referral you make. Commissions are currently $8.00 for the first month’s introductory offer. It then goes up to $23.50 a month.

Starter members earn $4.00 for special offer referrals, then $11.75 monthly.

In short, it’s a rewarding and generous scheme for an affiliate marketer.

Small plants growing on three piles of stacked coins.

You’ll receive information on how to look for, and sign up to, other affiliate programs too. There are lots!

I’ll give you a word of caution. Affiliate marketing is not a get rich quick scheme, but it can soon provide a passive income whilst you set up your business properly. Within 12 months you could be sitting on an income stream that exceeds your current wage. That’s not a promise, but the stealthy get there.

If you want to work for yourself, make money online, and work from home, then Wealthy Affiliate has all you need to achieve that. You really can build a successful and financially rewarding future in affiliate marketing. But it doesn’t happen quickly, so be steadfast.

Should I join Wealthy Affiliate? I’ve seen bad reviews online

Sadly, I’ve read bad reviews about almost everything. It’s the nature of the internet in our day and age.

Online marketing is highly competitive, so a company’s promotional efforts may diminish the benefits of its rivals by deliberate instinct. This is something iwanttoleavemyjob.com refuses to do. That’s unless my coverage is about a provable scam.

The internet has become full of click-bait and bile, so don’t believe everything you read. I began this review by talking about distrust and fakery. In my opinion, doubts about the authenticity of a message apply to damnation statements just as much as ‘promised land’ narratives.

I guess we must choose who to trust. I think that should be ourselves.

How much does Wealthy Affiliate cost?

Wealthy Affiliate offers free membership and does not take any up-front payment information. That’s right, I said FREE!

You can try out the platform, training and chat without any financial commitment. You don’t even need to remember to unsubscribe before the trial period ends.

Free membership can last for as long as you like!

You need to bear in mind that some of the trial’s advantages will be locked to you after 7 days. These limitations do make a difference, so I’ve provided a comparison chart below this review, so you know what to expect.

As a free member signup, it’s unlikely you’ll reap the financial rewards of being an affiliate marketer any time soon. That’s why an upgrade to premium membership is such an important step forward. If you like what you see inside Wealthy Affiliate, invest in yourself, and your online business, by committing to the program.

Premium membership needs to be paid for, but it’s far cheaper than similar platforms online. Current prices for premium membership are $19 for the first month, and then a recurring $49 per month. Other options are available, such as Annual or Premium Plus memberships. You don’t need these to succeed though.

Seriously, I don’t think there’s another online affiliate marketing training platform that offers the value for money that Wealthy Affiliate does, Solo Build It! being the possible exception.

So, it’s time to ask yourself again – “should I join Wealthy Affiliate?”

Even on a half-whim, the free trial must whet your appetite.

If you recall, I said in my introduction that it makes sense to do some research before you commit. Well, it makes even more sense to try it out for free, right? I definitely think that’s the best way for you to make an informed decision about Wealthy Affiliate.

So now my review is done, please ask yourself again – “should I join Wealthy Affiliate?” And if the answer is YES, then your next question will be…

How do I sign up?

You can join Wealthy Affiliate by clicking this banner, or the one I’ve put at the bottom of this page.

Wealthy Affiliate ad.

As mentioned, becoming a member of Wealthy Affiliate is free. If you enjoy the experience, you’ll likely upgrade to a premium membership sooner rather than later. I recommend you do this within the first week, but that depends on your circumstances of course.

Be sure you’re committed to your new business before you part with any money. There’s a strict no-refunds policy, so I don’t want that to become a concern for you.

Over the years, I’ve looked into a lot of subscription services in relation to starting an online business. My fingers have been burnt several times. But I sincerely find Wealthy Affiliate to have the friendliest community, the most competitive pricing structure, and incredible resources. It’s my top recommendation if you want to get into affiliate marketing.

The support team is always quick to respond and Wealthy Affiliate’s owners, Kyle and Carson, will help you out too!

So, let’s get your business online!

I recommend the free trial as your starting point. Remember, there are no obligations when trying the platform out for free. And you don’t need to provide your credit card or PayPal details to join!

I hope you give Wealthy Affiliate a try, and that I see you in the chat sometime soon. Be sure to say hello!

I wish you good luck for the future. You can make it change today!

I am also in the affiliate marketing business and a premium member of the WA community. I started my journey 5 years back and today I am the owner of 4 successful websites. In my opinion, this is an emerging field in which you can see your future. Wealthy affiliate helped me a lot when I was a newbie in this field, the video tutorials they provided helped me a lot in learning about this field. Moreover, these people were always there to help me whenever I was facing any issue. According to me, this field asks for a lot of patience and hard work, Your main motive must be to gain the trust of your readers without thinking about returns, once it is done then there is no looking back.
